Re; ABS sensor signal
Gary (Steinbru@vnet.ibm.com) asked:
List,
Can someone describe how to hook an oscilloscope to said sensors? I
don't have a clip-on current probe, need a direct connection. I'm
wanting to troubleshoot, and this would seem to be the easiest way.
Disconnect the sensor connector near the sensor. On 1988 90q's, the two front
ones are tied to the shock towers; the two rears are found under the back seat.
When looking at the output of one of my cars, I used one channel on each pin and
went differential. However, I suspect single ended would work so long as the
'scope wasn't grounded to the body. Typical signals were of the order of a volt
when turning the wheel by foot. In hindsight, using a long horizontal sweep
period would have helped detect missing teeth.
