I was grievously misled by several people's 'knowledge'.  The local dealer (who 
quoted it as a four-hour job) has now admitted that he's never done an MB.  

It's a great deal easier on a WR because of the greater clearance at the front 
of the engine.

David at BR Motorsport called me on Thursday to say they had a cancellation and 
could have fitted me in yesterday.  Too late - I'd made the alternative 
investment in tools.  Martin apparently quotes 5 hours "if he meets no 
problems" - I'm very happy to get within 2x of Martin's time at a first attempt.
