Here in Holland we get the same 'quality' Bose/Blaupunkt stuff. Nobody buys
it though, because anything that comes on a car as standard is subject to
the same 45% special new car tax as the car itself. $700 for a
Bose/Blaupunkt system, anyone?

Two names that I know of: Blaupunkt (surprise, surprise!) and Philips. I'd
advise neither, though. Sorry Phil, but Philips just hasn't got any quality
stuff anymore. Grundig (decent, cheap), Alpine (decent to good, not cheap)
and Becker (quite good, very expensive) used to have red illumination, too.

I made my JVC unit light up red by buying new 'condoms' for the bulbs in
the faceplate. It's actually red/green now, because I can't think of
anything to do with the LEDs that illuminate the volume/power buttons...
