we don't need no stinking badges. . .V8 help
I'm quattro hunting, and came across a '90? V8 and curious about any
"heads up" info re: problems especially with notorious 4sp slushbox.
Did not drive it yet, but it started/idled fine. Shifting through gears
gave me the feeling the gear engagement times were about 1/2 click
slower vs. 3sp box in my 89 100 which engages by the time the shift
lever falls into the gate notch.
Does this car have any badges? There's nothing on the front/rear to
denote model, which leads me (who has never seen a V8 before this) to
think that it was hit/repaired. 92K miles and very clean, maybe too
clean. Ask price is 16K (I know its insane).
Kinda neat that the seller is a Bosch authorized repair shop (and he has
the decal and sign to prove it) named "WMB" and specializes in some
German sports car that starts with a P. At least he has a sense of
humor, that is probably lost on his BMW customers.
TIA,
MJ Murphy
