Trip to Mexico Report (no Audi, some VW content)
All -
I just spent a week in Puerto Vallarta Mexico, which was obviously nice and
warm, great food, etc, etc.
Anyway, I found the auto situation down there quite interesting.
1) Taxis: 90% of the Taxis are Nissan Sentras. The rest are Jettas. The are
all in good shape, clean, very little body damage. Quite surprising after
experiencing the way they drive coupled with the cobblestone streets.
2) Probably 40% of all cars are VWs. Most of them are Beetles (or some
variation of the Beetle). Seeing brand-new Beetles (old-style of course)
was fun. There were also a bunch of Jettas. There was VW that seemed to be
quite popular called the "Derby". It looked like a baby-Passat and looked
like a new model in the last couple years.
3) Did not see 1 single Audi, MB, Volvo, and saw only 1 BMW Z3. Even in the
resort areas.
Anyway, I thought this was interesting.
