Hi fellow listers,
I hope all daily list-readers can bear with me since it's more than
likely this thread is outdated. And I apologize for any redundancies this
post may generate, but I've been away from my computer and consequently
bounced ...rightfully so due to the inadequacies of AOL - an ISP I will NOT
be a member of much longer.
THE QUESTION:
I have been curious about covering over creases and cracks with a dye for
some time. My local upholsterer suggested coloring them with a red marker
since repair of the Commemorative Edition's red leather seats would be too
expensive...obviously in his mind, not mine - nothing is "too expensive" for
my baby, when I can afford it. ;-) I do however want to avoid "red markers"
and think I'd like, or at least prefer, the results of a proper dye. I think
I'm quite capable of wearing expendable clothes, at least for a short while
:-), so I would like to know if there are any Comm. Edition C-GT/4K listers
that have applied dye to their red leather seats with any success, and if so,
WHAT TYPE/COLOR was used?

Also, a couple of months ago, after a post in which I mentioned my PIAA
940 combination fog/driving lamps, a lister inquired about the mounting
location I chose. I lost that post(and many others) before replying, so with
apologies to the masses I want to offer him/her the info but don't know the
lister. If he/she is still curious, please e-mail me again. That offer also
goes out to all the listers that had asked about my '86 Commemorative Edition
C-GT and/or its mods(Jacob's Elec., H&R, PIAA) but never got a reply from me
for whatever reason. I should be 'TeutonicGT'(@aol.com) for at least another
month. BTW, my C-GT and I miss all you guys and gals. ...and sorry about the
BW.
