Hi!
I used to have dummy connectors on my wear sensors on the front wheels.
This was an interim measure until I could get proper connectors to
connect to the pads. I have since had the pads replaced, but without
connectors. About a week ago I had one of the dummy wires disappear
while driving. Yesterday I put on a proper connector on the wear
indicator of the one that lost the wire. Now I get the brake warning
sign with the exclamation mark in it when I turn the car on an
idle for about 10 seconds.
Where is this brake sensor light? Is it the brake sensor or the
bulb? Yesterday I did a repair on the fuel indicator warning sign
which would come on at 1/3 tank remaining, this required removing
the instrument cluster, but I didn't disconnect anything and I made
sure no wires were caught in anything. The only reason a brake fault
might occur from what I did yesterday would be from me refitting
that wear indicator. Any ideas?
The warning lamp with the exclamation mark is for the hydraulic
system as far as I know. Does anyone have a clue as to what I need
to check to determine where the pressure loss might be? This warning
lamp only used to pop-up when I was doing 130kph, but as of yesterday
and as of refitting the connector to the front right disc pads, the
warning lamp comes on without me having to move, without me having
to put my foot on the brake and without me turning the wheel and
actuating the hydraulic system.
