Clutch problem II

Further to my earlier message -

There are a number of reasons why I havent gone under the car to investigate 
further,
1) It has been a typical English autumn (fall) week, foggy, wet and cold and 
the roads have been filthy so the underside of the car and the surface of my 
driveway are not over attractive at the moment

2) In addition to the aforementioned state of my driveway, I have just 
replaced the thermostat so there is a load of antifreeze all over the place.

BTW, the old thermostat was u/s, the temp guage is now sitting with the upper 
of the two segments below the first stroke of 'N' and the heater works at 
speeds below 70mph.
