Re: UFO brakes on 91 - how hard to change myself
It's extremely easy.
The pads on my 200qw are the only set I've ever done (and not much other car
mechanical work up to that point either) and I had no problems doing them
whatsoever. The rotors come off to change the pads, so that's all part of
the package. Now, lifting those rotors... :-)
Good luck with it.

Subject: UFO brakes on 91 - how hard to change myself
Howdy,
I'll be buying a 91 200Q on Monday which needs new brake rotors and pads.
How hard is it to do this job myself? I've done brakes on other cars (VWs)
but haven't seen the UFO brakes before.
A friend jokingly suggested I drive into Mieneke and watch their jaws drop
after they take off the wheel to look at the brakes. :)
Since I bought the 200 my 1992 VW Corrado SLC is for sale if anyone is
interested.
TIA,
