Audi's (as well as other cars) have the outside temp sensor on the
firewall, thus within proximity of your exhaust manifold, typically giving
an innacurate reading.

I solved my problem on my Lincoln by attaching a curved 3" piece of metal
just below the sensor to the firewall, thus providing some heat insulation
between the headers and the sensor.  Now I'm within 1-2 degrees tops,
unless I'm stuck in traffic in 90 degree weather.
