We get a special Audi-logo'ed Blanking Plate (TM) here in Holland. Most
people choose aftermarket either from the dealer (who in fact advises you
_not_ to go for the factory stuff). There are speakers in the A4 as
standard, but they have no amplifiers. They sound all the better for that,
though...
The reason our factory stereos are so ludicrously expensive is that
everything you buy with the car (alloys, sunroof etc) are subject to the
same 45% special new car tax. The price of that Audi stereo with CD changer
will also buy you a top-of-the-line radio cassette player w/RDS, a CD
changer, lots of superb quality speakers, one or two power amps and a
subwoofer. And leave you with plenty of cash to have it installed
professionally...
