short shift kit?

Anyone out there know if there is a short(er) throw shift kit for the
old 80's 5 speeds (little body style)?

I just crawled out from under (ok I used my neighbors lift), replacing
the shift rod boot and it looks pretty simple to alter the lever arm
lengths - if the parts are available...  Since mine are rusty (ugly) and
some of the little rubber bushings are pretty pooped, it would be nice
to make 5th less of a stretch etc.
