Re: Al and H2O vs Al and O2

I have not seen any street Audi's with the A2W system but
do know of one race car. The Audi Quattro that just
won the open 4wd class for Pro Ralley in the southern pacific
region of the SCCA runs a Garret Air to water system and
a large cooler under a rear wing. The rear mounted cooler
is also large enough to run an oil to air cooler as well.
Ford simply has mounted a smaller cooler up front and added
some port wine flavored cheese spray, or was that aqua dolce?

The system is designed to work best for rally conditions,
where heat soak under conditions of repeated accelerations
and relatively slow speed, make A2A systems ineffective.
It is really quite a bit like stop light racing.

Another advantage I can see from the system is at the dyno stage,
where you can create realistic conditions while standing still.
how do you properly dyno an A2A IC based turbo car? Big fans?
