Back in '89, they were nice enough to fax me a copy of their engineering
drawings for the bar so I could have one made locally ... alas, I can't seem
to find it but maybe they'll do the same for you if you call them and ask
nicely?

Agreed ... aluminum subframe bushings will help immensely, too, as the
subframe tends to "walk" around under the car under heavy loads. Believe it
or not, but a well-driven FWD Coupe and/or 4k can hold its own versus much
quicker and more powerful cars ... back in '89/'90, I autocrossed my
basically stock 4k against the BMW and Porsches that showed up at the
Porsche v. BMW club challenge events and routinely beat ALL of them but a
particularly quick 914/6. Even at open-track events, I could stay with many
of the big-buck cars that would dust me by 6-7 car lengths on the straights
only to be back on their bumper within three turns ... God loves underdogs! :^)

bearings!

I usually had to replace the wheel bearings every year and the upper strut
bearings every six months ... not difficult just a PITA.

Unfortunately, I'm finding the same to be true of me as well. And to think
I'm only 38... :^(
