idle threat-DEATH!!!

Okay ladies and gents, this is getting to confuse me.  On my 86 5kTQ the
idle is really weird.  Happens cold or hot, but worse when cold.  Dies if I
don't stay on the accelerator.  I put a new air temp sender in and that
helped alot, but still.  I have tried three ISVs and that didn't fix it.
What happens is when I lift off of the gas with the clutch in, like I am
stopping or something, the rpms fall to about 4 or 500 below where the idle
is set.  Then after about 5 seconds of very slow increase it reaches
desired rpm.  When I had rpm set to 800, it would fall to 3 or 400 and then
just wouldn't stay running, it would die.  Now that I set rpm to about 1200
it falls to 7 or 800, and then after 5 seconds it has made its way back up
to 1200rpm.  I am comfused.  Any help would be awesome.  Thanks.
