Stuck hood (bonnet?)
Hi all -
Maybe I can find some help here before I throw myself on the mercy of the
local dealer on Monday morning, early.
Friday I bought another bottle of Pentosin, and spoke briefly with the Audi
service guy at the dealership, named Fritz, by the way. Went back to work,
later went home, opened the garage door and drove in. Pulled up the hood
release, and it pulled way too far. Only the front driver's side of the
hood released, and I pushed it back down to try again. No go.
So now I have a car which is flashing the brake warning light at me to
politely suggest that I need to attend to that little fluid leak, and I
can't do anything about it.
So, since I can't really drive it, I thought I'd install the new radio
today. Well, I'm pretty handy with electronics, so I ignored the first
step: "Disconnect battery negative cable." That's for babies, after all.
When I tried to stuff everything back in the little hole, I got a nice fat
spark at one point. Then the new radio no longer lit up. No problemo,
said I, it's probably just a fuse. I looked around for the fuses (I'm a
relatively new owner of this car) and couldn't find them. So I checked the
owner's manual. Uh huh, under the hood.
So, any way to break into this thing? Any secret release, known only to
the cognoscenti? TIA
Desperately seeking release - Pat
