My 5kt was rear-ended!! (sob)
Screech! Bump! (Cry) A Honda has implanted itself in the 87 5k!
No, the guy wasn't an SOB. A very well-insured '98 Civic. Driven by a
gravely academic type. Think I totaled it, from the destroyed AC system,
radiator punctured, and airbags off. Guess the brakes were OK even without
assist;) Ouch.
But my beloved 5000? A quarter-sized hole in the bumper cover. Scratches
under the bumper from the Honda. Exhaust (single resonator, straight pipe
in place of muffler w/ ANSA chrome tip) bent downward at 45 deg angle. No
visible scars to underbody. Will get checked out tomorrow.
Any particluar stress points to check from this painful BTDT?
How much does that bumper cover usually cost?
Car drives entirely unchanged but for increased exhaust noise...
I'm not out to screw anyone over with insurance fraud- no whiplash- but I
do think I deserve to get this thing reasonably straightened out, no?
After I got over the shock (other driver thankfully unharmed) I thought:
That type 44 is STILL a heck of an anvil- did quite a job on the Civic.
Happy it wasn't an SUV!
