V8 Tres...

Hey folks,

Remember that V8 Quattro I mentioned that I'd so recently acquired...?

Well, it turns out to be a Tres, instead.  Still all-wheel drive, all three
of 'em.

The Faire Dora performed the highly sought-after modification this very
morning when she dodged a deer and got a stump instead.  Where, you
politely enquire?

Why, in my own freakin' driveway, of course.  Where else...?  But thank you
for asking all the same.  She is fine (and so is the deer), but the V8 is a
whole nother thang.

I won't hear from the insurance adjuster until next week, but I rather
suspect it will be totaled, since the force required to pull the wheel off
the axle and shear the suspension and tie-rod, would likely be adequate to
trash the tranny too.  And of course, there's the bodywork...

Anyone know of a '91 5-speed available?  Seriously.

First time I've ever been *thankful* for an accident, and I'm thankful for
the opportunity to get a 5-speed now, like I always wanted in the first
place!
