An impact drill/socket tool is one of the best things for loosening bolts,
especially if you don't want them.  I bought an electric unit for about
$150 or so, it has never failed me.

That and a 12V --> 120V AC converter allows me to remove lugnuts on the
road real easy. (in short bursts)
