My bet it would be iffy. You’d have to worry that you got the pump
splines lined up, then align with the torque converter turbine. Then
there is the seals and rings on the shaft. Blow it there and your tranny
will swap fluids with the diff. the drives do that enough even when
assembled per the manual.
