New Member With Question

Hi Folks- My name is Frank Santoro, I live in Kingsville MD.(just outside of
Baltimore), I am retired and the proud owner of a 1990 V8. I have more than a
shade tree background in automecanics, but am somewhat dated. Most of my
knowledge was gained on early model Ford V8s. I have always done my own
maintenance until I acquired this V8 in 1993. I prefer to have some
documentation before I undertake any complex action and have yet to locate a
shop manual. My immediate problem is the replacement of a front outside CV
joint boot. I have the parts, and tools (that are obvious) except for the
17mm hex socket. Eye balling the setup leads me to believe I will have to
remove the lower control arm to effect axel removal and boot replacement. Can
anyone out there offer any advice on this proceedure. By the way this car has
some very exotic front brakes with inside calipers. thanks --fbs
