COUPE GT spark plugs

I have a question about some new plugs for my 85 coupe gt.   I just 
went to the parts store and picked up some NGK plugs part #BPR6ES.  
After I got back a friend at work asked me if I bought split fire 
plugs, He told me that they make your engine run much better.  My 
question is does anyone know anything about them?? I don't mind 
spending a few extra bucks if it helps my car run better...   It is 
still not too late to take the old (new) plugs back...
