these flanges are normally removed without opening the case when
replacing the seals. some special tools may be required for this.
the real question is whether or not the splines are the same on the
"5-bolt" (larger diameter) flange as on the "4-bolt" flange.
the bolt holding the flange on the shaft must be the same as well...
