Why were you shocked? Didn't you notice anything strange about the
brakes? No pedal pulsation or steering vibration under braking?
If you haven't felt anything you might not have warped discs.
How was the diagnosis performed? Did he just look at them and told
you they are warped or did he actually test drive the car?
I did have a set of discs go bad on me after only one year of use.
I new it right away though and had them resurfaced. That's all they
need if they are year old. No need to buy a new set.
