V8 accessory belt

AM> How is this belt tensioned? I was helping my Dad change this belt

 AM> TIA, Arryn.

The tensioner is nothing more than a heavy duty spring
mounted inside the left engine cover, connected to the
pulley and vibration damper (shock) on the outside. If
my memory serves me you pull on the belt by hand and put
a "special tool" (a drill bit works fine) in the front
engine cover to hold the tensioner back. Replace the
belt, pull on it again and remove drill bit. One of
easier jobs on the V8Q...unless of course you don't
     have/forgot the belt route.

     BCNU,

... We now return to our regularly scheduled flame-throwing.
