There is a web page devoted to these Coupes:
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Speedway/3229/
The guys who put it together did a super job. Besides supporting a
mailing list devoted to the 20V models, it has a lot of good
information on the cars, which were imported only during '90 and '91,
and there are I think less than 1000 total in US. A wonderful driving
machine, and you have already remarked on its unique appearance.
I'm also a relative newcomer to the list(s), now I find myself
spending way too much company time on the Web browsing the list
archives. I spent my college years in northern Michigan watching John
Buffum dominate the Press On Regardless rallies, and fell in love with
the Quattros. When I first saw the "new" Coupes in the early '90s, I
had to have one.
My '91 is now at 112k miles, and starting to move into the phase of
life where frequent and intense maintenance and repairs become
necessary (tho I suspect the engine will outlive my children). I was
afraid I would need to get rid of it due to lack of skills and
knowledge necessary to keep it going. The lists have given me the
confidence that I can maintain it, and even upgrade it with
aftermarket equipment, of which there is quite a lot available. It
has also reinforced my suspicion that these are very special cars
deserving of ongoing investment and TLC.
