quattro technique

Hi gang,

Last night I had the pleasure of driving back to Berkeley from Boulder
Creek in a driving rainstorm and fog in my 4kq along Hwy 9, which is a
twisty winding road in the Santa Cruz mountains.  It was fun going in the
morning, bit of a chore coming back at night.  As I was shifting between
3rd and 4th hundreds of times and following the yellow "BOTS Dots" marking
the center of the road (which was about I could see), I thought to myself,
"Damn, I own 2 quattros and I don't know how or when to use the diff locks
(other than don't use 'em on dry roads!)".  So when do I?
