Cooling fan motor on its way out...

First, thanks to DeWitt, Phil, and Paul and everyone else for their advice
with this.

I readjusted the fan motor slightly in the shroud and made triple-sure it
wasn't chiming against anything. Even after this, a slight metallic, "dry
bearing" moan persists. Listening to the back of the motor with a stethoscope
revealed a crackly, sandy sound. Methinks it's time to pull the fan motor.

For everyone still running a 4-blade fan, I believe this noise was masked for
some time due to the deafening roar of the old fan. I upgraded to the (much
quieter) 7 blade fan and then this noise became much easier to hear.

Also: some updates:

According to Beuth-Verlag, my DIN Terminal standards were airmailed from
Germany about 10 days ago, so I expect to be receiving them soon.

And I'm talking to the local Parker-Hannifin distributor on Monday about the
oil-line fittings. Maybe I can get exact specs. and P/Ns.

Finally, the tiny little Blaupunkt replacement switches arrived, but I haven't
had a chance to put them in yet. They look to be very close by eyeball,
though. One problem...they have four leads instead of two. Might take a
little creativity to get them soldered in, if that's not possible then I'm
going to try getting them direct from Blaupunkt (shoulda done this first, I
think).

Best Wishes,
Alex
