RE: New head: New headaches (My 1.8T got 'serviced')
Because this is how most of the workshops work :-(
I don't quite understand it. I have met bad physicians in my life, not
many, though. I've never got a bad haircut. When I leave my clothes for
dry cleaning, I always receive them clean and undamaged. The
incompetence and stupidity of car mechanics _really_ hurts, though. Most
of the times when I leave the car at the workshop (be it independent or
Audi dealer) at least some little things aren't in order (dirty
upholstery, trim pieces not properly bolted etc.) In worst case my car
was rendered immobile once (distributor out of adjustment, dealer had no
idea how tu pull the codes) and many times the work wasn't done because
of the presonnel's lack of knowledge (best example: me complaining about
poor brake and steering assist - Audi mechanic unaware of existence of
the pressure accumulator !!!). I've always thought that this is because
I live in East Europe, where most of the mechanics worked on POS cars
for many years and were very recently introduced to fine machines like
Audis, now after reading many posts on this list I see that the problem
exists also in the US and probably everywhere in the world. Why is it
like that? Maybe we should report every incident like this directly to
Ingolstadt, otherwise Audi will keep allowing idiots to work on our
cars.
