That silly thing actually does have a function, to keep the washer fluid
from draining back down into the tank between uses and to save you
the annoyance of waiting 3 or 4 seconds for that first squirt of the trip
(the one you typically need right away). I guess Team Doorhandle
could have built it into the pump instead of hiding it from you.
