Absolutely right.  Despite using the term "molegrip", I find that my own is 
actually a US-made Visegrip 12LC.  The release lever functions the other way on 
a Molegrip, indeed leading to digital endangerment but doubtless avoiding 
patent issues.

Visegrips are also a whole lot better made than Molegrips, something I find 
common with US hand tools.
