Well...letsee, here in Santa Cruz, CA. where it seems all old ovlovs come to
(not) die there are scads of them, as well as 2002's, zbm's, and of course P-
cars. One seldom sees an old 100LS. Never will one see one around these parts
lovingly restored. I will re-state that two of the worst cars I have ever
owned were "imported cars of that era" and niether were Audis. ('76 2002 and
77 911S...both had chronic heat related problems thanks to pizza ovens, aka
thermal reactors, mounted right next to the head(s).)

I wish to take this oportunity also apologize to any who felt offended at my
previous post Re: 100LS. My primary point was *all* imported cars here in the
US from the mid-70's were problem children in one way or another. Some more
than others. Since I have personaly never driven or owned either the 100LS or
the Fox I can't say anything first hand...only what I heard way back when. I
agree too that the 5k series is not the pillar of reliability, but in quattro
form they are very much worth the sometimes expensive and painstaking
maintenance they require because they are truly wonderful and rewarding cars
to drive.
