Not a boo-boo in this case.  The Unser/Taladega (sp?) car which set the closed
course speed record was the first publicized race venture for Audi's 5-valve
technology.  Apart from a later (and abortive) second record run at the Nardo
circuit in Italy, I don't find any other mention of a 5-valve Audi in any
application until the recent production cars. It is on these tenuous threads
that the claim of "race-bred" heritage for the 5-valve V6 apparently rests.
