3B Charlie Spring??

Subject: 91 200q with new installed charlie spring

Results: The thing flies when I don't put my foot into it!!!! but if I do,
it hits overboost continuously...

In an effort to troubleshoot my low boost since I bought it (not seeing
more than 1.3 in 1st and 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gets 1.5, 1.6 and SOMETIMES
1.7, never 1.8.

I've checked all the standard things, hoses, electrically checked
components, etc... Then Mike Miller talked about how his car really goes
after he put in a Charlie spring out of a MC engine in it. Had to try it.

I couldn't locate one from anybody else, so I bought one from TAP (I know
how much I paid, go ahead, flame me). Put it in yesterday. 1.8 in first
gear!!!!

Shortly after the engine came up to full temperature, I let it loose in 2nd
and 3rd gear, hit overboost (man that car BUCKS when it does that!!).
Couldn't really figure out how to drive the car, I'm so use to driving it
with my right foot, want power, put the pedal down and wait as it comes on
smoothly....

So I figured I would take it out last night, but on the way home from work,
I would use about 1/8 to 1/4 of full throttle, and man would that car
*MOVE*, like nothing before. Even when it was indicating 1.3 boost in third
gear, it would *PULL*. I have to ask myself why this is?

If I drive it with no more than 1/4 throttle, it is *MUCH FASTER* than it
was previously. If I put 1/2 throttle into it, it will hit cutoff, even
before the boost gauge hits 1.5. Kinda weird (I think it's actually at the
higher boost level, the gauge just hasn't caught up to it yet). If I give
it 1/4 throttle, I can bring it to 1.8 easy.....lots of fun!

Can anyone explain what is happening? Anything I can do to keep these
elevated boost levels but not hit cutoff short of getting a chip?

I have a need for speed.......
