Fault location: Vacuum hose to control unit sensor.
Cause: Vacuum hose leaking, disconnected or plugged.

Sounds like you've got a monster vacuum leak somewhere.  It could
be the hose to the ECU, but I'd think it's more likely one
of the vacuum hoses at the back of the intake manifold
has turned to mush and disintegrated.
