A quick way to check the bomb is to depress the brake pedal multiple
times with the engine not running, you should get at least 20 strokes
before the pedal resistance changes.

I’d consider that a safety problem that should be taken care of at the
dealers expense. Seems to me that there is a law on the books regarding
used cars/brakes and dealer responsibility.
