Brake Light Indicator

I apologize if this is the second copy of this message, but I have yet to see
the one I posted last night on the list...

The parking brake indicator light on the dash of my '86 4kcsq does not
illuminate unless I apply extreme tension to the emergency brake.  This is
quite annoying and resulted in the car being driven over a mile with the brake
partially engaged.  Where is the adjustment for this?
