Re: blown coil (fwd)

(I am posting this to list in case others need a mechanic in N.
central Vermont)

        Dan -

I missed the first bits of this thread, so I don't know what the
full story is here. Are you on the hook for the repair or just helping out?
I can say the following:

"Jimmy" is James Gazarrelli and is from my experience/what I know
secondhand an unimpeachably honest guy. He is a quattro mechanic and that
is what he cares about. I have had my quattro into him for maintenance and
he has turned away some items I requested because he thought it didn't need
it. I have other friends in Mooretown, Waitsfield, and Warren who take
their Audis and other cars to him and swear he is a life (and wallet) saver.
Also, he never lacks for work. His repair style is very practical and not
spit and polish spare-no-expense (it's northern Vermont and those are his
customers!). Dave Flagg must know him much more thoroughly than I, though.

Next thing - hey, it was like supposed to be -20F there Sunday
night. That'll do wonders to bring out all kinds of Gremlins in a car! The
forecast for the next few days is 30-40F so that should make things a little
easier.

OK, if you have some interest/friend/money on the line here, I might
be able to help a little. I am on my way there tomorrow night (we have a
ski condo about 3 miles from Jim's shop which is why I know the above) and
will be there until the 24th, then again from the 29th to the 4th. If I can
be of assistance plese let me know. I also have two empty bedrooms in the
house until my wife/friends arrive in a few days.
