Boy I'll say!

In my first 5kcstq (87 wagon) the first rack failed at around 60k miles
leaking badly. Not sure how long the replacement lasted as it was at 70k I
lost the car in my divorce. (Anyone on this list in the SF Bay Area buy a
gorgeous Nautic Blue 87 tqwagon sans roof racks from Steve Krenzen in late
1993???? Damm I loved that car...)

My current '87 5kcstq is on rack # 3. The first was replaced at around 50k,
the second at 125k (replaced this time along with the pump and bomb for being
polluted with ATF per the repair invoice I got in the car's records). I bought
the car at 136k and it is now at 141k, so far so good though I am disapointed
to see the rack is an '84 original build date (rebuilt of course)...but no
leaks so far (he said bowing towards the pentosin gods).

So based on my experiences (and records on the car I currently own from the
previous owner) I would say they last around 50-60k miles...not long in other
words for such a PITA to replace. Anyone have better experience than this?
