Not battery voltage, charge voltage. Battery voltage is always about 12V execpt when it's
almost empty or you have a malfunction battery cell or two :).
To charge a battery you need a larger charging voltage than the battery, the higher
the voltage, to a certian point - about 14.8V - where the battery life gets significaly
shorter, the faster the battery charges. The charging voltage should be no lower than 14.2
Volt.
