Timing Belt....

By way of explanation, my mechanic has just quoted me $1000 for a new
timing belt on my 90-90Q20v.
I know this is way out of line and wanted to be able to back it up with
them by your responses..so Thanks.

Now, does anyone know where the procedure for this is located or can be
gotten.
My mechanic is still busy pulling the entire front end of cars off....this
may not say much about
their mechanical acumen...but I really would like to prove that it can be
done the "right" way and not the $1000 way.
