Re: Reference on AVS in WA

you decide to deal with him be VERY careful. >>
That was my feeling after talking to Max about a month ago. When I was
on my quest for a 3B, he was one of the sources I called, along with
Shitcan...err, I mean Shokan (cringe, gag...). He has one engine, which
is apparently out of Peter Henrikson's old '91 200TQW, and wanted $4K
for it with the ECU and wiring loom. The price itself is about the
going rate from what I found, but I just got this VERY uneasy feeling
about Max while talking to him. He was very arrogant on the phone and
claimed to know everything about doing a 20vt conversion on a CQ, but
after asking a couple of questions it was very clear that Max, while he
does know quite a bit, doesn't know as much as he thinks he does. I'm
glad I didn't end up buying any parts from him
<<He's sent me running around the block a few times...>>
I have the feeling I would have gone through the same thing if I would
have dealt with him. For instance, he claimed to have RS2 bumper covers
and RS2 fenders. I asked him how much and when could he ship them to
me, and he said he needed to check to see what he had. I got the
impression that_he_really_didn't have the parts that he claimed to,
since I would think he would know whether or not he would have pieces
like those in stock. Just my 2 pennies.
cya!
