EGT Sensor location

Turbo Meisters,

Can those people out there who are running Exhaust Gas
Temperature (EGT) gauges in the Audi I5 turbos, comment on
the location they used to locate and mount the sensor in
the exhaust. I assume that ideally you want to mount the
sensor before the turbo somewhere at the exit area of the
exhaust manifold. I noticed on the exhaust manifold near
the exit that there is a round boss that could possibly be
drilled. I realize that this manifold is prone to cracking
and that drilling a hole into it could promote cracking if
not done correctly.
