Yeah, true, but it's probably not a feature. It's just that the
the central locking goes berserk and the electrical system went bad. :)

Also, anyone ever noticed that the Merc door handles haven't changed
much for over a decade. Well, at least the grip hasn't. I remember
the reason behind there design was that it offers much better grip
and leverage for assistance in opening a jammed door. :)
