When the BTCC scrutineers compared the A4 quattro with every other front and
rear wheel drive car in the field, they penalised Audi with 65kg of extra
weight over the FWDs and 90kg over the RWDs.
The #1 BMW driver said that if they hadn't, Audi would have won each 20-lap
race by up to a lap. "They would win even if they had to tow a trailer".
And don't forget - the BTCC A4 was using an old engine because the other teams
objected to Audi's five-valve technology.
