Re: first 20v questions
First, the 20v list....it's GREAT as it is, so please be careful with any
changes..everybody seems to like it.
What it could use is a nicer kind of general archive I suppose.
Second....linear power...as compared to what?.....the 20v comes to life at
between 3200 and 3700 RPM depending
upon how the car is set up (chips, K&N etc)..and it almost feels turbo
like. The car is a stone off the line. The car
will still push right on up clean thru 6000 though. It took me awhile to
get used to using that power band. I can't help you
on the surging...although the compressor on these things is a beast and if
you're running defrost or automatic you
could be experiencing some compressor drag. Much more with A/C though it
seems. If the A/C system is low on freon that
sucker will cycle to drive you crazy for the A/C.
Third...your vibration..you seem to have all the options clear to you and I
know of no other.
Fourth...we going to see you at the track this year? BMWCCA will be
running cabin fever at NHIS in only 4 months! :-)
