As a PCA member, I've driven a 911 and 944 at PCA track events at Watkins Glen,
Lime Rock, Seattle International Raceway and Portland International Raceway.
While they handle very differently, both Porsches always left me smiling. From
these PCA track events, I know, first-hand that a well-driven 944 can pester a
911 and that a 944T will leave 911s in its wake. I've also been lucky enough to
be a 944T, 911T and 935 passenger at Porsche's track at Wessiach and it took
almost a year to wipe that smile from my face. Finally, there's a woman in our
region who drives a 944S2 in the SCCA Porsche group. I''ve seen her run several
times and she always puts at least half of the 911's behind her. I can only
imagine how hard it must be for these smiling(?) 911 drivers to get beaten by a
woman driving a fake Porsche (Go Girl!). Sorry about the non-Audi bandwidth on
this one folks, but I lived with and smiled at a 944 for several years and 911
bigots always get my dander up. Happy Holidays Jouko!
