Greg,
  This wire is not nichrome since it can be soldered. BTDT several times.
It is also pretty flexible, which nichrome isn't. It looks like it is
silver plated or something. For those of you who are repairing the heaters,
there is often more than one open in the wire. I wound up totally bypassing
the section that is in the bolster on the driver's seat due to breaks about
every 12mm or so. The first time I did a repair, I also found the wire had
broken at the thermal sensor as well.
