Amen! Most folks can't believe my car is a '91. When I retrieved my
sister-in-law from the airport she thought my 200TQW was a brand new car and
didn't believe me until she saw 75K on the speedo. This thread has taken
several other paths. I subscribe to the theory that new cars are overpriced.
Wittness the depreciation hit they take in first few years. I respectfully
submit that the Audi-advantage program is one of the reasons why used Audis
are such a great deal. Audi takes care of *everything* in the first few years
(even the oil changes). Hence, if you catch a two to three year old Audi,
you know it's been well-maintained and the computer data the AoA keeps will
tell you what's gone on. In sum, you can get a great car for a good price.
I'm a firm believer in used Audis! BTW Audi has a used car warranty program.
I forget what AoA calls it (MB calls theirs "Encore") but if memory serves,
to be eligible, the car has to be coming off an Audi lease and it has to have
less than 75K miles.
