dangling V8 wires

The dangling wires are probably for the brake wear sensor.  There should be
a "wing-tab" on one that holds it in place on a bracket.  Check the other
side for them, too.  If they get worn through, it's about $30 a set to
replace.  They're sort of intended to be sacrificial.  Audi's way of upping
the cost of a brake job, I guess.  You can also repair the wires, or leave
them dangling...
